Expecting a Baby

Congratulations on your growing family!

At Focus Pediatrics, we’re here to help you prepare for your little one’s arrival with guidance, support, and expert care. We know the journey to parenthood comes with lots of excitement—and questions. Our team is ready to provide all the information and care you need before, during, and after your baby’s arrival.

Why Schedule a Prenatal Visit?

A prenatal visit is a great opportunity for expectant parents to meet with our pediatricians and become familiar with our practice. During this visit, we can:

  • Introduce Our Team: Get to know our pediatricians and staff who will care for your baby.
  • Discuss Newborn Care: Learn about newborn health, what to expect in the first weeks, and how we support you through those early stages.
  • Review Office Procedures: Understand how to schedule appointments, what to bring to the first visit, and how to access our after-hours nurse line.
  • Answer Your Questions: Address any concerns or topics related to newborn care, such as feeding, vaccinations, or sleep routines.

We encourage parents-to-be to ask questions about anything on their minds, from delivery hospital preferences to tips on preparing for baby’s arrival.

Preparing for Your Baby’s First Visit

Scheduling your newborn’s first appointment early can give you peace of mind and ensure a smooth transition after birth. We recommend planning for:

  • Newborn Visit (3–5 Days After Birth): The initial checkup will monitor your baby’s growth, feeding, and overall health.
  • Vaccination Discussions: We will go over the vaccination schedule and what’s necessary in the early months of your baby’s life.
